Live Entertainment – Gold restaurant

Trendy bars along the Camps Bay strip offer cocktails and sundowners and a place to be ‘seen’ – try Caprice or Sandbar for a sundowner drink or Baraza for drinks accompanied by local DJ’s. For a straight-off-the-beach drink and some good music stop in at La Med beach bar in Clifton. Also on the Atlantic Seaboard, Wafu in Mouille Point has a fantastic wooden deck which overlooks the sea – perfect for chilling with a cocktaik and some of their speciality Asian tapas.

Long Street in the city centre offers an eclectic mix of entertainment and is within walking distance of the many backpackers lodges found in the area. For a trendy hang-out in the city, try Po Na Na Bar on Heritage Square. For a mellow and laid back evening, try Kennedy’s Cigar bar with its plush interior, cigars and bourbon. And, for an ultra-cool experience head for the Planet bar at the Mount Nelson hotel for exotic cocktails, champagne, caviar and oysters.

In trendy Strand Street, Gold Restaurant is a sophisticated restaurant and entertainment area with a traditional yet comfortable feel.

The V&A Waterfront caters for a variety of tastes including live Jazz at the Green Dolphin restaurant and a lively dinner and pub atmosphere at Quay Four and Ferrimans.

In Greenpoint, Pulse is a trendy sports bar featuring big screen sports events, good food and dancing.

The southern suburbs offer a handful of venues frequented mostly by locals including Cubana Cafe on Claremont Main Road and the Forrester’s Arms pub and De Wijnhuis wine bar in Newlands. Also in Newlands, Caveau at the Mill (sister to the original Caveau in town) is located within the historic Josephine Mill and offers a huge selection of wines. In Observatory you’ll find a collection of hippie and student type bars including Rolling Stones pool hall. In Kalk Bay there’s the waterside Brass Bell for a casual meal and drink, as well as the Morrocan inspired Polona in the harbour.

People don’t just love Cape Town for its blue sky; they’re also interested in the colours it takes on after dark. Thousands visit each year solely for the city’s nightlife. Live shows, talented performers and all-night clubs offer an array of talent and entertainment that, given the city’s size, is remarkably varied and plentiful. The city is also known as a top jazz destination, and its gay scene is the best on the continent. So after you’ve indulged in another of our matchless sunsets, head out and dip your toes into Cape Town by night. We guarantee you’ll party long enough to make sure you won’t miss the similarly beautiful sunrise that follows…

When it comes to live music and entertainment, Cape Town nightlife has plenty to offer. Molo has set up a list of the best live African music venues in Cape Town.

Nyoni’s Kraal African Restaurant and Live Music

A new restaurant in Cape Town on the African live music scene. Walk upstairs and experience the size and warm atmosphere of this venue. Visit Nyoni’s Kraal for soulful African music and good times in Cape Town. Find it on 98 Longstreet in Cape Town’s city centre.

The making of music sits firmly within the arena of the arts.  The making of money (as a priority) sits uncomfortably close.  But these estranged cousins need each other.  We all understand the realities that an artist/musician must face in order to earn a living.  But why does money (i.e. the world of business and the people who operate within that commercial ecosystem) need Art?

Stop for a moment and try and imagine a world devoid of pictures, paintings, sculptures, photo, dance, poetry, movies or – dare I say it – Music?  Pretty bleak, huh?  so from a commercial viewpoint, the question should never be “can we afford it?” Much more relevant is the question “can we afford NOT to have it?”

Mike Smith, LMG Music Guide

There’s always something very special about being at a live music event. You experience a unique sound that touches you in a way that only live music can. To listen to more live music look through the upcoming music attractions to ensure you don’t miss a thing.

Young or old, music is something that ties us all together. In Cape Town, you have the added bonus of a massive variety of cultures, musical histories and backgrounds.

Jazz fans have a few regular haunts to hang around at as they wait for the big one – the annual Cape Town Jazz Fest. Those interested in African beats and rhythms should take a trip down Long Street, popping into any place with a drumbeat and a baseline.

Visitors wanting to experience the quintessential Cape Town nightlife will want to visit some of the bars and clubs. Here local and international bands and DJs play out the night until the sun sends everyone home.

On Long Street, the Waiting Room and Fiction are the edgiest Cape Town venues with line-ups full of local and international bands and DJs. Expect sweaty live and loud rock ‘n roll, ska, indie, hip hop and electronica with various nights for various folks.

Green Point has a few sweaty-chic bump and grind clubs. The area was famous for its party hard gay clubs, thumping house music and late morning licences.

The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock is fast becoming another irreverent live music venue. Everyone from famous European DJs to iconic American punk bands (read NOFX) has played under the stars in the biscuit mill.

For a more chilled experience pack a picnic basket and head for Kirstenbosch Gardens. The botanical gardens are home to a Sunday summer music festival.

Families relax on a hill, eating and drinking wine as everything from folk bands to African fusion acts play music against the backdrop of TableMountain.

Another fast growing favourite is the Forest Amphitheatre on the Paul Cluver Wine Estate. An hour from Cape Town, this wine estate hosts open air concerts featuring everyone from famous international acts like Johnny Clegg to up and coming African divas.

Tobacco Makes a Very Picky Crop

If you love cigars–if you’re a true cigar aficionado–you probably wonder, every now and again, what life is like for the hard-working folks who grow the tobacco for your favorite cigars.

Well, if it’s premium cigars you like to smoke–perhaps by the box, perhaps one by one in a premium cigar sampler–then the first thing to know is that your cigar is made by people from all over the world. In many premium cigars, the wrapper (outer portion) of the cigar will come from one region, the binder (inner leaves which help hold the cigar together and add something to the flavor) from another, and the filler (from which much of the flavor comes) from another.

Why all this international complication? Well, there are three things to remember about the tobacco plant: as plants go, it’s lazy, wimpy, and picky.

Picky. Some organisms have evolved in order to maintain survival at all costs (locusts and Circus Peanuts come to mind), but that’s not tobacco. This plant thrives in a very particular set of conditions. In fact, those conditions are essentially the ones that you’ll experience if you stick a finger in your humidor–a high level of humidity (sixty-seven to seventy-four percent relative humidity) but a low level of actual wetness; mild warm temperatures (sixty-nine to seventy-three degrees); sunlight, but not too much of it. Tobacco has evolved to prefer soil that is wet, and yet it doesn’t want to be rained on. Talk about impossible to please! That’s why the world’s best filler, according to common opinion, comes from Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo valley region. Here, the soil is rained on extensively most months out of the year, but conditions are dry during the growing season: the soil stays wet without the plant getting battered in a storm. Perfect!

You don’t find conditions like these everywhere–in fact, it’d be tough to find them anywhere in the United States, which is why we’re not known as producers of filler tobacco. Nicaragua, Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and a number of other countries are also ace filler-tobacco producers. For the more leathery, sturdier leaves that make the best wrappers, though, the United States offers a handful of ideal locations. The East Coast in the summer, for example, with a level of rain that hurts filler tobacco (though some is produced there) but is just fine for wrappers, produces some of the finest wrappers in the world.

Filler produced in less-than-ideal conditions commands a lower price on the world market, which makes it a less efficient cash crop for farmers. Why not grow wrapper tobacco and make more money, since the United States offers ample conditions for the production of world-beating wrappers?

Lazy. When you plant tobacco seeds, you don’t actually plant them in the traditional sense of the word–you sprinkle them on the ground, let them lie on the surface, and they take root of themselves. (Some planters will swish them in a pail of water and dump the water willy-nilly on the ground.) Tobacco seeds don’t like having to fight up from underneath the ground.

Obviously, this strange trait also means that tobacco seeds can’t be planted just anywhere. Places that are prone to frost until late in the year are insalubrious locations for tobacco farming. Anything that disturbs the area close to the soil’s surface is going to have negative implications for the survival of tobacco seedlings.

Wimpy. The same plant that doesn’t like fighting up from underneath the ground is also afraid of overdrying, overwatering, too much sunlight, too little sunlight, mold, and nearly every other problem that can bedevil a plant. Think of Connecticut Shade tobacco, the kind grown mostly on the East Coast and often used as a wrapper. They call it Connecticut Shade because it is literally grown under the shade of huge nylon tents which makes this crop’s life as undisturbed and pampered as possible.

CigarFox provides you the opportunity to build your own sampler of the finest cigars that include cigar brands like Montecristo, Romeo & Julieta, H Upmann, Macanudo, Cohiba, Partagas, Gurkha and many more. Choose from more than 1200 different cigars! Other cigar products include cigar humidors, cigar boxes, and cigar accessories like Zippo Lighters.

Product Creation Part II – Get Others to Write your E-book for you

Another strategy for producing an e-book is to ask others to write it ror you. Some of the most successful e-book promotions have featured e-books with multiple authors.

Why would an author give you a chapter for your book?

Because you will encourage them to include their contact information and links to their web pages, that’s why. The more copies of your book that you sell or give away, the more traffic they get to their sales sites. More traffic equals more sales.

Here’s how I used this technique.

At our weekly mastermind meeting, I cracked a joke about The Myth of Passive Income (www.mythofpassiveincome.com). I was whining because I had spent two whole hours filling orders and answering customer service emails.

This was the internet age-I was supposed to be sitting on the beach smoking a Cuban cigar and drinking espresso while the money magically appeared in my bank account, wasn’t I?

The reality, as most successful internet marketers will tell you if you catch them out of the public eye, is that most successful internet marketers work long hours to create passive income. Especially in the beginning of your internet marketing career, passive income is a myth.

Joe Vitale laughed at my joke, and then decided it would make an interesting book. So he contacted several of the top internet marketers and asked them to write a chapter about their passive income experiences. In a couple of weeks, we had over twenty chapters, from some of the biggest names in the business.

You can see the final product at www.mythofpassiveincome.com .

This technique will work for almost any subject. For example, if you wanted to write a book about running a successful E-zine, you could email the authors of the most successful E-zines and ask them to contribute a chapter.

I suspect most of them would jump at the chance. Every copy of your e-book will be an advertisement for their E-zine.

When it came time to approach Joint-Venture partners for the e-book, we approached the co-authors. They were happy to make money from the e-book. Of course, it would be interesting to their lists- since they’re in it.

This generated a lot of sales, but more importantly, each person they sent to our site had the opportunity to sign up for our list. This is a great technique for “creaming” another marketer’s list. We were able to identify, and gain access to, the members of their list that were interested in our products.

This has led to some great relationships with our new subscribers, and subsequent sales of other products.

Get the idea?

Use Interviews To Write An E-book

A variation on having others write your book for you is to use interviews.

This is just a little more work, but there are a lot of benefits to this method. Remember that the interview can be conducted by phone, in person, by email- sometimes, the method you use to interview the expert can be a selling point. Be creative!

People who might not take the time to write a chapter are more likely to have a conversation with you, especially if you entice them with an ethical bribe-in this case, you can offer to include their contact and sales information in the chapter you create from the interview.

Remember, these interviews can be done over the phone or through email.

For example, suppose you wanted to write an e-book about the best way to buy a used car. You could arrange to talk with a broad range of used car salesmen. What are their tricks? What techniques do they use to get customers to buy? What should a customer ask? What should a customer be afraid of or concerned about?

Most salesmen will happily talk about their business, if you can convince them that it will attract more customers.

In this case, I’d ask them about the dirty tricks other salesmen use.

If you’re writing an e-book about a topic you’re very familiar with, you can interview yourself!

Once you’ve got your interviews, you’ve converted your authoring problem to a typing problem. You can even hire a transcription service to type it for you.

Writing your book from interviews has a hidden benefit-you nowhave an audio product to sell! You can use your interview tapes as the source material to create CDs or you can convert them to MP3’s and sell them as digital products.

One example of an interview mp3 product is at www.e-bookproblemsolver.com. I interviewed Dr. Joe Vitale on the subject of e-book production and marketing, converted the interview into mp3s and put them online. After listening to that interview, you should be able to come up with a topic, write the e-book, get it online, and sell it. The whole production took less than four hours to create- and was a lot of fun.

Right now, the most popular e-books are the ones that explain how to do something: how to save money, how to make a web page, how to fix a car, how to satisfy your lover, how to bake a great cheese-cake- even how to write an e-book!

You’re looking for an expert, but don’t get in a rut about what constitutes an “expert.” Here are some potential subjects for your interview. I’ll bet you can think of many more.

International Pipe Smoking Day Is A Chance For Pipe Smokers To Share Their Story

St. Louis, Missouri is the place where on the February 20, 2010 will be the center where every smoker that uses pipe smoke from the whole world will celebrate the International Pipe Smoking Day. The whole party will be at the Heart of St. Charles Banquet Center. And in the same day it will already be celebrated the 22nd Annual Gateway Area Pipe Show.

Local pipe smokers will salute their pipe smoking sisters and brothers from all over the world by raising in the air their pipes. This way they will show their friendship and respect. The sponsor of the show that will be presented that day is Louis Pipe Club. All the details about the celebration are taken care of Bob Callaway, who is the spokesperson of the Pipe Club.

Three years ago a group from Smokers Forum decided to design the International Pipe Smoking Day as a day when pipe smokers from all corners of the world are friendly with each other, share their stories and educate other persons how noble is the art of smoking a pipe. The group that designed this day had the purpose to bring together all smokers that collect pipes, smoke them or just like their aspect. All of those that participate at the International Day respect the adult decision to smoke tobacco.

This important day for pipe smokers gives them the opportunity to share their love to tobacco and to tell the world that they enjoy their pipes, even though there are so many restrictions, smoking bans and tax raisings.

International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association which includes 2000 retailers of tobacco products is supporting the International Pipe Smoking Day. Another supporter is the International Committee of Pipe Clubs, which has so many members from all over the world, from more than 25 countries. The United Pipe Clubs of America also represents a supporter and it has more than 20 club members in the USA. There are many different pipe clubs from the whole country that will have interesting events on that day.

The motto of this day “Relax with Your Pipe”. The persons that smoke pipe are adults and know what they are doing. They are very good people and don’t want to bother, but they want their decision to be respected.

I am a website creator: www.mycigaretteshop.com . ?Find fresh information and news about tobacco front and different brands of cigarettes. I like very much to write articles and use my imagination. I enjoy creating websites and work on their design. I am writing about smoking habit and tobacco products, because I want to inform everyone what effect cigarettes have on us.

Home Decor: Quick Renovation Ideas For The Sitting Area

Renovation of your sitting room does not necessarily mean a long drawn process. Here are some renovation ideas for your sitting area that work quickly and effectively.

Change The Furniture

You may love to flaunt your leather sofas but an aesthetic approach towards the furniture will enhance the look. Instead of giving a cowboy look to the sitting area, try French floral prints as sofa covers. French floral prints come in subtle shades and bright prints. This will not only enhance the look but also the mood of the room. You can also opt for animal prints if you wish to give a wild look. It is very important to use bright colors in the sitting area. Bright colors symbolize positive energy.

Bright Colors To Add Spice

The fastest way to change the completely change the look is to get going with a can of paint. Paint the walls in bright shades to put life into dull interiors. Keeping in mind the theme of the sitting area, the colors should be bright. The area is all about guests and therefore the color should reflect warm hospitality. Shades of red, peach, yellow, orange and gold are good options to pick from. You may go creative with shading of the walls too. Most paints have mixed combination look too. All you need is to let your imagination go wild.

Matching Furnishing

If you do not wish to waste time and money in getting the flooring changed, go for easier and faster options. The entire look of the room can be changed by placing an interesting carpet. Try out traditional Persian silk carpets instead of geometrical pattern ones. Though it requires high maintenance, the exclusive look will be well worth the price. In case of cushion covers, try out the dull zari and brocade cushion covers. They will lift the mood of the room. Ensure that you are opting for matching fabric for the sofa cover.

Curtains To Bring In Panache

Curtains play an important role in lifting up the look of the room. The idea of putting curtain should not be similar to a veil system. You can opt for curtains that match the wall colors. Opt for silk curtains to add more glamour to your room. Mix and match color combinations work well. Bright colored velvet and silk valences will add a royal look to the surroundings. If you are planning for a casual look then opt for brighter shades. Light curtains in net and linen fabric that are ideal for the summer mood. Heavy fabrics work well for the doors and windows. Let the natural light come inside as it enhances look as well as spread positive energy. Go for translucent silk curtains as it will solve both purposes.

Highlight The Areas

Instead of showering the sitting area with halogen lights, go for highlighting. Highlight certain corners and areas to enhance the look of the décor. If you have an expensive painting, statue or even crystal, highlight that area. I’m sure renovation is not going to be a hassle for you anymore.
