Gifts Sure To Impress Cigar Enthusiasts

When gift shopping for cigar smokers, premium cigars come to mind. A trip to a tobacco shop will ensure viewing a wide selection and price range, with expensive brands housed in special areas where the humidity is just right and pampered customers can try out their selections. However, for those uncertain about selecting cigars themselves, there are some other great options. These include cigar cutters, cases for home or travel, humidors, and also cigar lighters.

Lighters make great gifts because they can be personalized or engraved and come in a variety of styles and functions. Some even have built-in cigar cutters for a nice two-in-one advantage. Furthermore, prices vary enough so that there are choices to fit every budget. While some will find a price tag comfortable, there are others ready to spend more, with about ,500 typically the high end of the range.

Of course, engraving increases cost, though the amount depends upon whether simple initials or text are engraved, or more complex items added, such as company logos, even photos. Personalization is often just the right touch for gift giving.

Popular cigar lighters include single flame torch types, ranging in price from about to 00. Styles and brands of this style are extensive, and finishes range from black lacquer and bright colors to detailed chrome finishes over solid brass, even leather with palladium. With single-step ignition buttons and butane fuel level viewing windows, some have a laser flame that functions even in windy conditions. These are especially nice for golfers or sportsmen.

Also available are double flame torch models, as well as triple flame types. These lighters guarantee a quicker light, yet a powerful flame, while housed in a compact case. The triple flame torches are guaranteed, in fact, to light up a cigar in seconds and come in both pocket and table-top models. As with the single torch varieties, there are different brands and styles, with finishes running the gamut. There is something for every cigar smoker, as undoubtedly some will prefer the satin chrome or black matte finishes while others will enjoy metallic blue or orange and gunmetal. Further, since lighters might be considered accessories for well-rounded cigar enthusiasts, tastes might dictate having more than one to suit various occasions.

Besides torch styles, many traditional lighter styles still sport roller-bar flint ignitions instead of push-button conveniences. Their wide, soft yellow flame ensures years of trouble-free lighting, while including built-in flame adjustment so that a fingernail or tool need not be used for controlling flame size. Some are specially designed to light any size cigar, from slimmest to widest; many also carry a lifetime warranty, though warranties of 1-3 years are not uncommon.

Finally, regardless of brand and style, torch or traditional, push button or flint ignition, most cigar lighters come ready to present in their own attractive leather cases, pouches, or gift boxes. For anyone afraid to take a chance on buying cigars, these are sure to be both a safe bet and a welcome gift for the cigar lover on the receiving end.

Early Christmas Shopping: What To Buy For The Smoker In Your Life

Article by Jennifer Bravely

As the holiday season approaches, many people are trying to start their shopping early. After all, early shopping can greatly reduce the stress that so often becomes the focus on the holidays. If you have a smoker in your life, however, it can be difficult to find the perfect gift to complement their habit. There are, however, a number of smoking-related gift options to choose from. From a box of fine cigars to meerschaum pipes for sale, you should have no problem finding something they will love.

Choosing the right cigar can be tricky, if you do not know what the person you are buying for likes to smoke. That said, there are a few things you can do to increase your odds of getting something they will like. Because you are shopping early, you may be able to ask them about their favorite cigars without revealing too much about the gift. If not, you should try asking the cigar shop employees for advice. As a general rule, most cigar smokers appreciate the same qualities in a cigar that they do in other things. Think about their favorite wine, coffee and chocolate. Try to figure out if they prefer bold, dark flavors, or mellow, complex flavors.

If choosing a cigar seems too complicated, you can also consider buying a pipe. In fact, many people prefer to give pipes as gifts because they last longer than cigars. Meerschaum, a white or cream-colored mineral, is one of the hottest pipe materials currently on the market. Many tobacco stores and online shops have numerous meerschaum pipes for sale, in a wide rage of designs. The simplest pipes feature a traditional shape with a white bowl and a black stem. The most complex pipes are carved with elaborate and whimsical designs.

If the person you are shopping for only smokes cigarettes, you could consider buying them a fancy cigarette case. Cases are made from a wide range of materials and can be customized to fit individual tastes and styles. To personalize the gift further, you can have an inscription engraved on the case. If you are crafty, you can even make a case yourself out of bent metal or polished wood. Remember to include a pack of their favorite cigarettes with the gift.

As with any gift shopping, it is important to remember who you are buying for. Do not buy them a box of cigars if they cannot stand the smell of cigars. Only look for meerschaum pipes for sale if they enjoy smoking a pipe. If you take your time to shop around, you should have no problem finding the perfect smoking-related gift. If not, you can always settle for a box of nicotine patches.

The Surprising Popularity of Cigar Smoking

Article by Dennis Rollins

Not only has creativity fallen over the cracks, but presents may not be as monetarily feasible because they once were: there are televisions for sale that cost more rather than my car. Because of this, holiday shopping has become an increasing burden, not only for me but for many other individuals. As we find ourselves trapped somewhere in the shopping mall and then the holidays of yore if your true meaning wasn’t showcased for the display stand at Macy’s, we think about how it was in the past. There was a time after the holidays were about over purchasing the latest label of technology or the priciest cashmere sweater. It was formerly so easy. A complement, a purse, even a bar of soap attached to a rope all fell within the category of a desirable gift for, back next, it was merely prospect that counted. But of late, these gifts have lost their chance to be accepted, and they aren’t one ones. I have found that even the hand painted card I give my parents as the gift each year is met with less plus less enthusiasm, no matter what amount glitter I add.. Still, people haven’t lost this fight against yet. With the onset of the season we are given the chance to reinvent the true spirit in the holidays; we are given the cabability to give a gift which usually says something grander than, “I have a substantial limit on my credit-based card. ” One way we can easily do this is by providing the gift of matches. Why Give Cigars in the form of Gift? Cigars may not look like a run-of-the-mill holiday present but, in this age of overblown commercialism, their a shortage of reputation should work into their favor. Instead of representing brand hand bags or the clothing line overseen by way of a professional rapper, cigars represent what the holiday season are really all in relation to: friendship, celebration, and joy. Giving a cigar like a gift conveys that various actual thought, and besides your paycheck, went on the gift giving process. Lighters, possessing a meaningful stigmatism, are often exchanged very much the same friends exchange a being aware of glance, or a comforting pat about the shoulder: they are exchanged in a fashion that makes them about a specific thing more that meets the eye. What Kinds of Cigars to convey? The type of cigar to invest in simply depends on the recipient. For a stogie novice, cigar samplers come up with excellent gifts, giving the novice enable you to sample a variety regarding cigars, finding one the person truly enjoys. If you don’t purchase a sampler, then a box involving mild cigars – including Macanudo from the Dominican Republic or perhaps the Casa Torañ o from Honduras – usually is most effective for beginners. For a cigar connoisseur, purchasing a box in their favorite brand – or simply a brand you know they’re dying to try – a truly great way to go. And even, for novices and fans alike, enrolling them in any cigar of the month club will frequently be met with keenness: it’s the gift who never gets extinguished, not less than not while the program is valid. What are generally Some Unique Cigar Gifts?

My love for cigars began on my 20th birthday with a trip to my local cigar shop with my father. My passion progressed in college when a good friend and I started a weekly cigar night for all lovers of the leaf in my home town. I continued my education of tobacco through managing a tabacco store. I still continue learn and wish to share my knowledge and love for cigars with others.<br /

Cigars: The Distinguished Man?s Gift Guide

The holiday season is quickly approaching and you might be wondering what to get that guy on your list who has everything and wants for nothing. I’m sure you know the guy I’m talking about, the one with who just purchased a brand new LED television for his theater last month, has a collection of leather bound first editions in his library, and the walls of his office are covered in original works of art and photos of him standing next to diplomats and dignitaries. What kind of gift gets that guy excited? After all he might already be the most interesting man in the world.

No matter how timelessly cool any man might be, he will always appreciate the gift of cigars or cigar accessories like a cigar humidor. There’s just something about a quality cigar that just speaks to a man.

Of course Cuban cigars are the benchmark of the cigar world and due to import/export sanctions are not legally sold in the United States. However there are a great deal of high quality cigars that guy on your holiday list will enjoy.

Before choosing a particular style or make of cigar its important to understand what goes into a cigar and what distinguishes one from another. Cigars are made from two parts of the tobacco plant. The cigar is composed of high grade tobacco wrapped in an aged tobacco leaf. Much of the flavor of a cigar comes from the wrapper. In fact a great deal of the rating of a cigar is judged by inspection of the wrapper.

Tobacco plants used to make wrappers are grown in one of two ways. They are either known as shade grown or sun grown. Shade grown plants are grown under canopies out of direct sunlight.

Shade grown plants are specifically used for making wrappers because the lack of direct sunlight keeps the leaves soft and limits the growth in the veins. Quality cigars will often have shade grown wrappers with tight fibers and small veins. On the contrary, sun grown wrappers have larger and tougher veins. However sun grown tobacco leaves tend to be sweeter and darker in color, making them ideal for certain types of cigars.

The tobacco inside the cigar goes through just as intense and rigorous a process as the wrappers. First the tobacco is grown to strict standards, and then it is fermented in heated compost heaps known as burros or bulks. This process is often known as sweating. Finally the raw tobacco goes to the blending room for mixing into the finished product. Blending is the process of combining tobacco flavors, however much of the composition of blending cigar tobacco is held in deep secrecy.

Even in the cigar aficionado world there are certain brands and blends that are well respected. CAO cigars are widely recognized as some of the highest quality cigars manufactured across the world. If you’re looking for a quality box of cigars for that special someone on your list CAO cigars are an excellent choice. They offer a variety of blends produced on every continent except Antarctica.

A cigar humidor also makes an excellent gift. A popular misconception is that cigars are dried. Nothing could be further from the truth. Quality cigars retain moisture and silkiness in both the wrapper and tobacco. Maintaining the right level of humidity and moisture is a crucial step to storing and keeping cigars. As a result a cigar humidifier known as a humidor is used to protect and store cigars until consumption. If you know a cigar lover, chances are they have or need a humidor to keep their collection in perfect condition.

Just remember this holiday season. There is a gift for everyone. And for the man that has everything and needs nothing, there are always cigars. Cigars are not only an enjoyable smoke, but a symbol of status and elegance. Cigars can be inexpensive and common or costly and rare. The cigar you choose depends as much on your tastes and desires as it does on the manufacturing process the grower undertakes. And most of all, a cigar is also the perfect way to ring in the new year with friends. Happy holidays!
